Girlie Valentine

Of course after my non-traditional "boy" valentine, last friday,  I had to have a semi non-traditional, but still girlie and pretty, valentine for today.  I actually didn't use any red...and the sentiment still isn't to gushy, but I love the way the heart element turned out on this!

  • Swirl paper - unknown brand
  • The Paper Studio embossing floral - Intricate Swirl

Friday Evening FREEBIE: Cassidy Sitting on a Ledge

This is actually two stamps in one, because I have included the brick wall/ledge background as well as the Cassidy stamp in the download.  Either stamp can be used alone or combined to create a scene.

Enjoy!  Remember you only have a week to get this download!
Sorry you missed it!
Freebies are only available for a week,. so get here quick!

A "Boy" Valentine

I wanted to try to make a Valentine, that wasn't so girlie - no flowers, lace, fussy layers, gushy or cutsie sayings, red or pink....pretty much everything that makes a Valentine a Valentine had to go.

It's tough to do.  And I still wound up with a heart on it.

I thought I'd show you the inside of the card as well.  I'm trying to get in the habit of "dressing" the inside of the card alsol, but typically it's just a spot for a note, and a few strips of the same papers I've used on the outside of the card.  I probably won't be showing the insides to often....just FYI.

Materials Used:
  • Kraft and white Card stock
  • Colorbok Paper pad - Earthtones
  • Studio G Rubber Stamp
  • Studio G Alphabet stamp set
  • Studio G Pigment Ink
  • Recollections copper mini circle brads
  • Random adhesives

Coordinating Tag

I decided to make a tag that coordinated with the birthday card I posted last week, as I know there will be a gift included to the person receiving that card.  I wanted the tag to be similar, but not completely matchy-matchy, and this is what I came up with.

Materials Used:
  • Kraft tag (Not sure the brand, I have several of these just floating around in my supplies)
  • Burgundy card stock
  • Black & Cream Script paper from The Paper Studio
  • Distress Ink in Vintage Photo
  • Inkadinkado Clear Stamps in Sketchy Flourishes
  • Studio G Stamp
  • Studio G Pigment Ink - a chocolate brown color, and white
  • Chipboard shape and "bling" frame unknown brands - both from Honk's Dollar store
  • homemade glimmer mist in gold
  • Bird image from The Graphics Fairy
  • EK Success Butterfly Punch
  • The Paper Studio self adhesive pearls
  • Offray Fancy Lace Cream
  • Elements hemp Cord - Earthtones
  • Random adhesives

Beary Merry

I must explain the sentiment...my hubby always says "Have a Merry Merry!" rather than "Merry Christmas" or "Happy Holidays".  It has rubbed off on me, and now I tend to say it a lot around the holidays too.  So, this is a version of that holiday greeting that fits with the stamp I used!

Materials Used:
  • Red, Green, White card stock
  • Patterned papers by The Paper Studio
  • Digi Image by Dustin Pike - colored with pencils
  • Buttons (I can't remember the brand, but it was a mixed packet from WalMart)
  • White Embroidery Floss
  • Bic Mark-It Ultra Fine Point Markers
  • Random Adhesives

Blingy Valentine

The flowers on this card were all made by me.  Actually, on my cards, 99% of the flowers used are made by me.  I usually have so many other things on my wishlist for supplies, that flowers usually don't make it on the list.

The white roses are folded/quilled, and the red and pink roses are created from punches.

Materials Used:
  • White, red, pink, green card stock
  • D'Vine Swirl Cuttlebug embossing folder
  • Celebrate It Ribbon
  • Details Satin Ribbon
  • Sentiment made by me on computer
  • EK Success Punches
  • 24 gauge floral wire
  • Bead Treasures glass beads: 4 mm pearls, 4 mm fauceted
  • The Paper Studio self adhesive pearls
  • Random adhesives

Friday Evening FREEBIE: Alyssa - Talk to me

Sorry you missed it!
Freebies are only available for a week,. so get here quick!

Studded Lace

The idea for this card struck me as I was browsing Pintrest and saw a tag that had lines of brads across it.  I thought it would be really pretty to stud a strip of lace with the brads.  I had made a template and pierced the card so the brads were supposed to line up right, but apparently the prongs weren't totally centered on the brads, so the effect is a bit wobbly....but I think it adds a little charm - yeah, that's the claim.  ;-)

This is the brooding, "artsy", photo for this card's FB profile...

Materials Used:

  • Card stock 2 shades of brown
  • The Paper Studio Mirabelle Paper pack - both the green with cream script, and floral
  • Distress Ink in Frayed Burlap
  • Offray Ribbons - Fancy Lace Cream, and SPRMOS (Spring Moss maybe?)
  • Recollections Copper Mini Circle brads
  • Sentiment made on computer
  • Random Adhesives

  • Patterned papers both by The Paper Studio
  • Ribbon (no brand name - purchased from Dollar Tree)

A Grungy Birthday Card

This is actually the 2nd version of this particular card....I made and photographed the first one, and when I went to edit the photos. I realized that in the process, the background paper had been flipped upside down prior to the elements being put on.  I probably could have gotten away with it, but the more I looked at it, the more obvious it became to me, so I salvaged what I could and remade the card.  And I think this version came out even better - so pffffffff to silly mistakes!

Materials Used:

  • Cream, brown, white, burgundy, and green card stock
  • Black & Cream Script paper from The Paper Studio
  • Distress Ink in Vintage Photo
  • Inkadinkado Clear Stamps in Sketchy Flourishes
  • Recollections Copper Mini Circle brads
  • 5 petal flower punch (not sure, but I think it's an EK Success punch)
  • The Paper Studio self adhesive pearls
  • 24 gauge floral wire
  • La Petites by The Paper Studio 3-D stickers
  • Random adhesives

Friday Evening FREEBIE: Kenzie Giggles

Sorry you missed it!
Freebies are only available for a week,. so get here quick!

NEW BLOG!!

Welcome to my new blog!  I had so many things going on over at the Sherlocks' Home blog, that I decided to finally pull my cardmaking and digi stamps over onto their own blog!

Cardmaking + Digistamps = Folded Paper & Printed Pixels (FP3)

There are some changes to things on this blog!

  • Free images are ONLY going to be available for one week after they've been posted. There are a few images on my Freebies Forever  page that will ALWAYS be available.
  • Eventually I would like to get to a point of having a store as well as the freebies, so any feedback on that would be appreciated!
  • Once I get a store running, I will probably start a challenge here as well.
  • I've changed my copyright policy so that it is a little less restrictive for those who sell the cards and items that they make with the images.
Hopefully, these changes will all be for the better!   Welcome to FP3!!
