Cover up

If you happen to follow my "Art Journaling" board on Pinterest...then you may have seen where I pinned this little beauty a few days ago  (If you have time, look through the whole "Journal covers" set...Oh. My. Gorgeous!).

Obviously, I'm on a bit of a journal kick lately...and I had a composition book waiting for me to turn it into a journal.  The link above was the perfect  inspiration for the cover!

I love the texture that's added with the addition of the burlap and lace....and the misting turned out so much better than I expected!  (I use homemade mists - a squirt of acrylic paint in with water - metallic or glitter acrylic paints for shimmer sprays.)  It's not visible in the photo, but there is some gleam on the cover from a gold mist as well.

This was a first attempt at a cover like this, and I love it!  I'm going to be keeping my eyes open for bits of textured fabric and things to use on the next cover!!
