Altered Love Frame

As I said Monday, I took my stepdaughter's engagement photos earlier this month.  I wanted to decorate a small frame to put one of the black and white photos in.  I'd seen a beautiful altered frame by faythchik777 on YouTube, made from a dollar store frame, and I decided to CAS that.

I got the same bifold frame set used int he video. I painted it with several coats of gesso, and some white and pearl acrylic paints  In the larger opening, I layered a piece of K&Co. paper under a quote from the DCWV vellum Quote Stacks "Love and Friendship" stack.  I then added some Wright's Creative Classics fused pearls around the openings of both frames.

On the left side, I ruffled up some lace trim (from Hobby Lobby) under some Offray Lace.  The little blingy frame is one I found at a dollar store some time ago and has another piece of that K&Co paper in it(the papers have tracing paper layered over them to mute the colors).  I painted a couple of Prima Arco Iris flowers with some thinned down acrylic paint, and added one on top of a bit of Offray ribbon on the blingy frame.

The flourishes are from Kaisercraft (with a bit of gesso rubbed on), and the super cute wooden hearts are from Studio Calico.

I'm not sure of the brand name on the tiles - they have been floating in my stash for a while....I didn't have the right letters however, so I flipped them over and used some EK Success stickers for lettering.  That's a bit of elements hemp jewelry cord across the top of the letters.

I added a couple of metal elements on the right side of the frame.  Under the painted iris, is a Momenta metal corner piece.  On top of the wooden flourish is, what I call, the "key to my heart" element.  The button and a little key are from my stash (I want to say the key is Dress It Up and the buttons "MAY" have come from Walmart).  They are attached with a bit of the jewelry cord.

I still need to have the photo printed to add, but I love how this turned out!  I might just have to make one for myself as well!
