A Vintage Silhouette

This week at Card Crafter's Circle we invite you to create cards on the theme of:

VINTAGE FLAIR!
(Show us your vintage colours, images, and embellishments!)

Floppy Lattes Digital Designs ::All Digital All The Time

Our Sponsor this week is Floppy Latte Digital Designs, and they are offering our challenge winner a $6 certificate to shop at the Floppy Latte store ....

The image I chose to work with this week is the Summer Party Silhouette.  And what could remind you of vintage more than a [faux] cameo?

I stained both my lace and my seam binding.  The lace was stained in coffee (and, yes, my card has a pleasant scent to it now!).  The seam binding was stained with Vintage Photo Distress Ink.  I'm a wonky hand stitcher - so the stitching was done on my sewing machine.

I really wanted it to look a bit like jewelry on the card, so, after cutting out my image and inking the edges, I coated the entire oval with clear embossing powder.  Then I backed it with the black cardstock.  I framed the image with the pearls, and went back in with some Rock Candy to add some crackle to the top of the image.

The inside is quite simply done.  A bit more of that coffee stained lace, and some inky papers.

I hope you join in with us this week with a Vintage style creation!  Be sure to stop by Card Crafter's Circle to see what the rest of the design team has created!
