At the March local meeting for the team I'm on, I won the door prize drawing that is part of each meeting. The rule with the drawing, is that if you win, you create the door prize for the next meeting. So, I made the door prize for our meeting in April - which was held last night.
Being me, it couldn't be JUST any old prize! I created a GIANT Explosion Box Mini Album for the prize I took in.
The panels of the box were just under 8" wide, and the whole box, including the bow on top, was 10" high. The outer box, and lid, were created with a chip board base - to add some strength and stability.
I used the Falling In Love DSP along with some gold accents. The ribbon I used, along the lid of the box, was from this past Sale-A-Bration, however, I have linked two other options for gold accent trim in the Supplies listed at the bottom of the post.
This took a LOT of work - and even more paper, and adhesive.
It even took a little gold spray paint on the wooden legs.
Once the top lid is removed, the sides fall open to reveal the album "pages" along with another box.
The smaller box, opens to reveal more album "pages", and a center paper rose.
There's a LOT of real estate in this album for photos. The outer pages will hold 5"x7" and 4"x6" photos, and the inner pages will hold up to 4" photos.
With the soft, pretty, colors, I think this album would be great for a wedding, engagement, or even a baby girl album.
The video below will walk through the whole box, including the individual pages.
The photos start at 6:19, if the hand held video is too shaky for you.
And the winner of the drawing was Marcy from My Inky Fingers Crafts! She loved the box - can you tell how excited she was?
Thanks for stopping by!
Much love,
PS. Shop Stampin' Up with me! Use hostess code YMUZ4ZWD for orders under $150, placed between now, and May 20th, for a chance to win a prize! If your order is over $150, do NOT use the code - you will receive hostess rewards as part of your order, as well as being entered in the drawing.
Oh my....what an impressive box! The pictures don't do justice until I saw the picture of you holding it! It is just AMAZING!
