In my world, it's never too early for Christmas. We love Christmas in my house, and go all out - decorating our yard, home, and creating special handmade treats for those around us. For many years now, I've sent handmade Christmas cards to my friends and family. The list keeps getting longer - so the number of cards needed keeps growing. Which means starting the process of creating the cards earlier and earlier!
For this card, I started with one of the $100 Bloom Benefits, the Brocade Imprints Embossing Folder. I turned it backwards to use with some clear embossing ink brushed across the raised images. I wanted something reminiscent of a fancy wallpaper, and once the panel was debossed, I was able to sprinkle on some gold embossing powder to fill the images. Because it was not perfectly inked, this gave a very cool distressed look to the panel.
I wanted to make some super sparkly poinsettias for this card, and really take the BLING level up. So I pulled out an old trick, to make the flowers shine.
I really like the way this card turned out. All the gleam, and sparkle really appeal to may love of shiny things.
Thanks for stopping by!
Much love,
