Today's card was created for a friend's birthday, however, I think this would easily translate into a card for any occasion, simply by changing out the sentiment. This would be perfect as a "thinking of you" or encouragement card. And with slightly more subtle tones, even a sympathy card (which, depending on the birthday, could still be appropriate!).
I stamped my roses onto Whip Cream card stock, and used my Color Burst Pencils to build up the shadowed areas a bit. This adds more depth and realism to the roses.
I also used my Brushed Silver Pan Pastel, to "grunge" up the embossed background. This brought the texture out, and allowed it to be more visible behind the colorful roses.
Ready to make this card yourself? I always include a supply list at the bottom of my posts, that is linked to my shop. This makes buying the specific supplies to recreate the card easy! At the very bottom of the post, you'll also find a list of labels, that will link you to other posts I've done using specific stamp sets, or types of cards. This will help you see other variations that you can create with the new stamps and dies you are purchasing.
Thanks for stopping by!
Much love,
Very pretty card!
ReplyDeleteI love the silver pan pastel - great technique! And I love the extra pencil shading too!
