A Splash of Faith, Hope, and Joy

Have you ever sat down to craft, and just wanted to play?  Just make a mess, and have fun with it - just like you did as a kid?  That's exactly what I wanted to do when I made today's card - and it was a blast!

I started out with my background.  The trick to this background is to start with a VERY wet Color Splash sheet. I wet my paper, and then used my blending brush to pick up Color Splash and run that along two-thirds of the top right of the paper.  Squeeze out more water as necessary to keep the color moving.  Occasionally, you will need to daub at the bottom of the sheet, to keep the color from pooling when it reaches the bottom edge.  Start with the lightest color first, and work up to the darkest.

It does take time for this background to dry, but you can gently coax it along with a heat gun, if you'd rather not wait for it to dry naturally.  Once dry, I inked the corner of the Vintage Notes stamp with clear embossing ink, and then stamped, and coated the image with Gold Embossing powder.  I used a dry brush to rough the edge of the image, before heat setting it.  I added a vellum circle with a heat embossed sentiment, then flicked Gold, and Cool Pool, Silks over the card front.  I matted the Color Splash Sheet on Blue Lagoon Card Stock, and then attached that to a white card base.  Fashion Gold dots scattered across the front add a little more dimension and interest.
