I began by stamping and heat embossing the frame and sentiment onto a piece of white card stock. I then stamped the single flower stamp twice using Tattered Rose Distress Oxide Ink, and the leaves twice using my Forest Moss Distress marker, then fussy cut all of my stamped pieces. I found a small strip of card stock, and coated it in ink, and then heat embossed the whole strip.
I then used a piece of painters tape (adhere it to your inner arm first, to lessen the tackiness) to block off the top portion of my Pale Rose card front. I stamped the floral images on the bottom portion of my card front - peeled off the tape carefully - then applied white embossing powder and heat set. I then layered the embossed strip on the card front, along with the sentiment panel and flowers. A white card base, and a few Nuvo drops finished up the card.
I stamped and heat embossed the heart image onto a piece of watercolor paper, then I watercolored the image with ink from my Distress Markers. Years ago, I learned (unsure from who) to color the marker onto a piece of glass, or an acrylic block, and then to use a water brush to take the color to the paper. This creates a softer watercolor look than coloring straight onto the paper, and you have slightly more control.
Colors used on heart:
Victorian Velvet, Aged Mahogany, Picked Raspberry, Worn Lipstick, Milled Lavender, Seedless Preserves, Forest Moss, Walnut Stain, Pumice Stone
I, again, used some painter's tape to tape a panel of watercolor paper to my work surface. I used Pumice Stone mixed with a bit of Victorian Velvet to paint a background for the card. I let both watercolor pieces dry, as I stamped and heat embossed my sentiment onto a piece of Rustic Rose card stock. I attached the dry background panel to the Oatmeal Cookie card base with foam squares, then attached the fussy cut heart, and sentiment strip on additional foam squares. A few self adhesive pearls were added to finish the card off.
I love how both of these cards turned out. They are totally different - with different stamp sets, and colors used - but both have a sweet softness, and that gorgeous embossing. Which is your favorite?
