Welcome to another Crafty Friends Blog Hop! If you have not joined us for one of our hops before, the Crafty Friends Blog Hop is a group of friends who have all shared some common crafty beginnings, and we hop each month with a spotlight on a company we love.
This month we have chosen to feature Picket Fence Studios as the brand we are featuring. They have a lot of fun stamp sets, stencils, and, of course, the Life Changing Blending Brushes in their product line. I'm super excited about this month, as I had the opportunity to work with the Creativation release from Picket Fence Studios - more on that coming later - which included the stamp set I've created with for today! As with previous months, the Crafty Friends have a coupon code to offer you, that is good for today and tomorrow on the official Picket Fence Studios website.
The card I'm sharing today, was created with the brand new stamp set "Pucker Up". This set does have a coordinating die, which I did not use in the card, but is available if you would like to use it. The card itself is all about having fun with the coloring.
To begin with, I stamped the lemon branch stamp from the Pucker Up stamp set, in Whisper Amalgam Ink, onto Sweet Sentiment Coloring Paper. I stamped the image twice, using my MISTI, to get the lines to be just the right shade of gray, and then I began by Copic coloring the background.
I used the lightest greens and blues to randomly color and blend together a soft background, and I blended it out further with my Colorless Blender. Once I had the color I wanted, I dripped a bit of Colorless Blender fluid, from a refill bottle, onto the background to move the color around further.
Copic Colors Used:
0, Y000, Y06, Y08,YG03, YG11, YG13, YG17, YG99, G00, B00, E57
Once the background was finished, I colored in the branch image in Copics. I pulled some of the green into the lemons during this step. I did top of the Copics with a few Prismacolor pencils used to add shading and depth.
I'm also sharing a fun peek at a product that was just introduced at Creativation this past weekend. It's the new Paper Glaze - a fun metallic texture product, that can also be put into a paint pallet and thinned with a little water to make a fun shimmery watercolor. I thinned this down to top off the lemons and the leaves on this card - because I had thinned it down quite a bit, it did not add a lot of color to the images, but did add a ton of metallic shine. This product is not yet on the website (BUMMER!), but will be soon, so keep your eyes peeled!
For the final step on the card front, I stamped the sentiment in Blue Lagoon Ink. Then, I layered the card front onto a white card base to complete the card.
I hope you enjoyed this fun lemon card! The next stop, in today's hop, is Lydia!
If you've somehow been turned around, or missed a stop, here's a handy list for reference.
