Hello!
It's the 14th, which means it's time for a new release from Picket Fence Studios. There is such a fun grab bag of stamp sets and stencils this month! I'm excited to share my samples with you. But, first, here is a quick peek of the entire release.
FULL APRIL 2020 PICKET FENCE STUDIOS RELEASE:
Card #1 | I Babysit for Free Baby Boy
I knew when I saw the Baby Boy of all Seasons Stamp, I was going to have to color those cute chubby cheeks. I stamped him in Barely There Amalgam Ink onto Sweet Sentiment paper, and colored him in with Prismacolor Pencils.
I finished the card by stamping one of the sentiments from the set in River Stone Ink, below the Danim Days die cut from the Seriously Word Die. The card front was adhered to a Denim Days card base.
Card #2 | Spread Happiness
For this card, I stamped the image and sentiment from the Face the Sun Stamp Set, in Picket Fence Hybrid Black Ink onto Pineapple Smoothie Card Stock.
I colored the image in, using Prismacolor Pencils, and a white gel pen to add detail to the center of the flower. Then, I mounted the card front onto a white card base, with foam tape.
Card #3 | Welcome Home Fireflies
A jar just has to be blue at some point right? I stamped the Fireflies on a Warm Night jar image onto Cool Pool card stock, using Blue Lagoon Ink. Then I stamped the little fireflies in the jar with Buttercream Ink. I colored in the lid, and added some shading and the glow to the fireflies with Prismacolor pencils.
I die cut the Hello Word Die from Blue Lagoon card, and vellum, along with die cutting the jar with the coordinating die. I stamped the Welcome Home sentiment from the stamp set, in Versamark, onto Pitch Black card stock, and heat embossed it using white embossing powder. I also stamped one more firefly onto a scrap of the Pitch Black, and die cut that out. On the Pitch Black card front, I laid out my elements, and then stamped a few more scattered fireflies in Buttercream ink. I colored them in, and then adhered everything together, and mounted the card front onto a white card base.
Card #4 | Little Light, Starry Night
As I was looking at the Round and Round We Go stamp set, I was struck with the thought that it resembled Van Gogh's Starry Night background. So this card is my interpretation. I stamped the image in Buttercream Ink onto Denim Days card stock. While the pigment ink was still wet, I randomly scattered a bit of white embossing powder in various spots, and heat set it. Using a Life Changing Blender Brush, I blended a bit of the Buttercream ink, as well as Scattered Straw Distress Oxide ink into the centers of the circles. Then I added the stars using the Stars Stencil, and Golden Rose Paper Glaze. I allowed this to dry for about an hour before moving on.
I diecut the Just a Branch Die, and a set of hills, from Pitch Black card stock. I stamped the sentiment from the Fireflies on a Warm Night stamp set, in Buttercream ink. Then I layered the pieces using liquid glue, and adhered it to a white card base.
Card #5 | A Little Sarcasm & Profanity
I love a good snarky stamp set, and the Never Faked a Sarcasm Set had me laughing when I first saw it. I also love the mix of a bit of snark with a really pretty card. So I heat embossed my sentiment in gold onto a piece of River Stone card stock. I cut that into a banner shape, and layered it over a background created with the Flowers Stencil and Paper Glaze. (More info about this shade of glaze will be coming in the future, so keep your eyes open!).
I finished off the card by adhering the card front to a white card base, and adding a few Fashion Gold pieces.
Card #6 | I Miss You (and Strawberries!)
This card was quick and easy. I stamped the Ponchatoula Strawberries Stamp onto Cool Pool card stock, using Cool Pool Ink. Then I layered strips of Bubblegum card stock, and Coorugated Stock. I added the I Miss You Die, cut from Cranberry Bliss, and vellum over the strips. The card front was added to a white card base. A little Nuvo shimmer in Midas Touch, and white Nuvo drops, finished the card.
The new release from Picket Fence Studios is available now. What are you going to get first?
