Hello!
It's that time of the month again! Time for another Crafty Friends Blog Hop. If you have not joined us for one of our hops before, the Crafty Friends Blog Hop is a group of friends who have all shared some common crafty beginnings, and we hop each month with a spotlight on a company we love.
This month, we are featuring our friends at Concord & 9th. Greg and the crew have generously given us a coupon code for our hoppers to use on an order placed today and tomorrow. The code is CRAFTYFRIENDSJUNE20, and it will give you 20% off of your purchase (Cannot be stacked with other discounts. Limit one use per customer.).
For my card today, I used the Lovely Lattice Turnabout, and the Simply Said Sentiment Stamp Set, from Concord & 9th.
I love Concord & 9th's turnabout sets. They are such a great idea - to create a multicolored pattern with one stamp, by rotating the card stock between stampings. There is even a tool that was created to make sure you get it right - the Turnabout Jig.. I cut an A2 sized piece of white card stock to begin my card, lined up the Lovely Lattice Turnabout and the Turnabout Jig in my MISTI, and started stamping the first background. I stamped in Banana Cream, Limeade Splash, Cool Pool, and Tin Pail - cleaning the stamp, and rotating the jig between each color. Then I stamped an additional piece of Cool Pool card stock, with the same stamp, using only Whip Cream ink to create the second background. Despite the fact that the patterns matched perfectly (thanks to the Jig, and MISTI), I decided to add a small strip of Tin Pail card stock when I layered everything together - just to soften the transition.
I stamped the larger sentiment from the Simply Said Sentiment Stamp Set, in Cool Pool Ink onto white card stock, and then die cut a circle around it. I stamped and white heat embossed the smaller sentiment onto Limeade Splash card stock, and the heart image from the set was stamped and heat embossed onto vellum.
I layered everything onto a white card base, using foam tape and Bearly Art (my new FAVE liquid glue!) adhesive. A few dots of Nuvo Gloss White finished off the card.
I'm really happy with the results on this card. Both stamp sets are fantastic, and I suspect I will be pulling them out again and again. Don't forget to use our coupon code CRAFTYFRIENDSJUNE20 at Concord & 9th by midnight tomorrow June 21st, to get a 20% discount.
The next stop on the hop is Lydia, over at Understand Blue.
