Hello!
I've had the Otter Side Stamp Set, from Heffy Doodle, for a little bit. I kept thinking I wanted to do a fun water scene with several otters in it. Surprisingly, when I sat down to stamp with the set, the cards I made came out completely clean and simple - not at all what I was originally thinking. Has that happened to you before? I think these cards actually showcase the fun sentiments in the set a little more, and anything with otters is just super cute, so I do love the finished cards.
For the first card, I stamped the water line first, in Catalina Splash ink, then stamped it a second time onto a piece of painter's tape to create a mask. I fussy cut the waves so that I could mask the water while stamping the otter, in Hazelnut Blend ink. Then I stamped the sentiment in Black Amalgam ink.
After stamping everything, I colored the image in with a few Prismacolor pencils. Once colored, I used a black pen to darken in the eyes, and a white gel pen to highlight the nose. Then I matted the card front onto another piece of white card stock, and added it to a white card base.
I laid all the stamps out for my second card, then pulled stamps out so I could stamp the individual colors. (Same ink colors used as in the first card.) I used the same pencil colors as well, to color in the image. Again, the card front was matted with white card stock, and adhered to a white card base.
As I said, these cards were super simple and quick to make. I love them though - they would be easy to create multiples for sending out in bulk.
