Hello!
If you are joining me for the first time, as part of the Picket Fence Studios September Release Hop, Welcome!
It's been a crazy few weeks here! Last week, I traveled across the state to pick up my Mom and bring her back to stay with me over the winter again. Winter where she's from starts in October-ish, and lasts sometimes into late April or May - so it is long, and icy. The couple weeks prior to that trip, I was trying to complete all of the projects that I had intended to do over the summer, but hadn't quite gotten around to doing. It's been a exhausting whirlwind, and I'm hoping to catch my breath - just as soon as I get Mom unpacked and settled in!
Meanwhile, it's the 14th of the month, which means it's time for a new release from Picket Fence Studios. I'm excited to share my some of samples with you. But, as always, I want to give you a quick peek of the entire release.
September 2020 Release
When I first saw this release, the Sweater Pattern Maker Stamp, and Fancy Christmas Sentiments Stamp Set leapt out at me. I wound up also falling in love with the Boysenberry Violet Paper Glaze when I used it - it's such a pretty color! (All of the products used in today's cards will be listed at the bottom of this post, for your reference.) I realized when I started writing this post, that I somehow made the cards in a bit of a seasonal theme, so let's start with spring.
Card #1 | Butterflies and Florals
I began this card, by preparing two panels. First, I stamped the Chase Me Stamp (this stamp can be lined up and stamped repeatedly to create a seamless pattern - it was stamped four times on this panel) in gray ink onto light gray card stock. Then I used a portion of the Slimline Floral Stencil and a Life Changing Blending Brush, to add Tattered Rose Distress Oxide ink to a pale pink card stock.
On white card stock, I stamped the Hello from the Fancy Sentiments Stamp Set first in the Tattered Rose Distress Oxide Ink, and then I offset the white panel and stamped it again in the gray ink. I die cut the panel into an oval.
I matted the floral panel with gray card stock, and added a strip of the gray card stock to the butterfly panel. Then I tied a bit of seam binding into a bow, and added the floral panel with foam tape, and adhered the oval directly to the floral panel. The card front was attached to a white card base. A few sequins from the Gin & Tonic Sequin Mix completed the card.

Card #2 | Sweet Side
This card was oh-so-simple. I stamped the cut dragon fruit image, from the Dragon Fruit Stamp Set, twice in Black Hybrid Ink - once onto kraft card stock, and a second time onto a post-it note. I fussy cut the image on the post it note, then used it as a mask to stamp the full fruit.
I colored in the image, using Prismacolor Pencils, then stamped the sentiment in black. Using a black pen, I added a few lines to frame the image, then added the card front to a white card base. Super easy!

Card #3 | Be Very Scared
I began this card by spreading the Boysenberry Violet Paper Glaze through the Slimline Radial Stencil, on gray card stock. While I allowed that to dry, I white heat embossed the sentiment from the So Franken Cute Stamp Set, onto a scrap of black card stock.
Once the Paper Glaze was dry, I used the black sequins from the Black Russian Sequin Mix, to create spiders. I glued a small sequin down, then overlapped a larger sequin. I placed three spiders around the card front, then used a black pen to draw in the legs. I attached the sentiment with some foam tape, and then matted the card front onto a black card base.

Card #4 | Patterned Christmas
Today's final card began by using the Flowers Stencil, a Life Changing Blending Brush, and Aged Mahogany Distress Ink on red card stock. Then I stamped the Sweater Pattern Maker Stamp (another seamless repeating stamp - stamped twice on this card), in Versamark, onto kraft card stock, and heat embossed it in white.

Honestly, while I like all of these cards, my favorite is the Patterned Christmas card, but then, I'm a sucker for Christmas cards. Which is your favorite?
Tomorrow, I will be sharing one more card with you, featuring a stamp set from this release, so be sure to come back to see it! (BIG hint: it features another Blending Brush Painting Tutorial!)
