Hello!
It's the 14th of the month, and that means it is time for another new release from Picket Fence Studios! This month,
Find the full release in the shop now.
Card #1 | Give from the Heart
The first card I'm sharing today, is actually the last one that I made - I knew I'd want to spend some time coloring this image. I used the Iconic Beauty Theresa Stamp Set. I stamped the image in my favorite light ink for no-line coloring, onto the smoother side of watercolor paper. Then I colored her in using my Polychromos colored pencils.
I've added a little slide show video, showing the coloring process. I always get my head in the way, if I try to film the coloring, so this gives you an idea of how it comes together.
Once the coloring was finished, I stamped and white heat embossed the rose images from the stamp set, before then stamping the sentiment in Black Hybrid Ink. I used a Life Changing Blender Brush, to blend Hickory Smoke Distress Oxide Ink over the background - being careful to not go over any of the image - and then added the panel to a white card front, using foam tape.
Card #2 | Free Expression
Card #2 | Free Expression
This card is very simply made. I stamped the image from the Free Expression Stamp twice. Once in a pale gray ink, and then I shifted the card panel just slightly before stamping again in Black Hybrid Ink. I then colored, and shaded, just the eye portion of the image with Polychromos colored pencils. Once the coloring was finished, I added a few dots to the iris of the eye, using a white gel pen.
Card #3 | HB2U
For this third card, I began with a panel of white card stock, which I ink blended, using my Life Changing Blender Brushes, and Twisted Citron, Peacock Feathers, and Mermaid Lagoon Distress Oxide Inks. Then I die cut the HB2U Word Die from that panel, along with a panel of black card stock. I layered the two die cuts together - slightly offset - and set them aside.
Using a die from the Mini Slim Line Double Stitched Rectangles, I die cut a piece of pale gray card stock. (After the first pass, I lined the die up with the grooves of the stiches, before die cutting the end off, in order to shorten the rectangle shape.)
I laid the Stars Stencil over the top of the gray panel, and spread Sparkle Paper Glitz through the stencil. I let the panel dry before adhering the die cuts, and adding the card front to a white card base.
Card #4 | Pisces Birthday
For this card, I began by stamping the image from the Pisces Girl Stamp Set, in Black Hybrid Ink, and coloring it in using Polychromos colored pencils. Once she was colored how I wanted, I die cut the image out using the coordinating die.
While my die machine was out, I also die cut the Slim Line Happy Birthday Word Topper Die from a deep purple card stock. I stamped the additional sentiment from the Word Die Topper Subtitles stamp set, and heat embossed it in silver. I then set aside these pieces to work on the background.
For the background, I took a piece of white card stock, and used my Life Changing Blender Brushes to blend Tumbled Glass and Salty Ocean Distress Oxide Inks onto the paper. Then I laid the Slim Line Fish for Infinity Stencil over the top, and blended Wilted Violet Distress Oxide Ink through.
I assembled all of the pieces together, and glued them to a white card base.
Card #5 | Rainbow of Thanks
This card was actually super fun to put together, and you can create a whole set of Thanks cards with the colored die cuts. I began with the background for this card. I used the Slim Line Clouds Stencil, and a Life Changing Blender Brush, to blend Stormy Sky Distress Oxide Ink, onto white card stock.
I then die cut the Slim Line Thanks Word Topper Die from a rainbow of colored card stock, and a piece of black card stock. (I did not have the shade of blue that I wanted to use, so I inked a piece of white card stock with Prize Ribbon Distress Oxide ink.) I was then able to simply snip off the colored letters, and adhere them on top of the letters on the black die cut. Once that was finished, I added a sentiment from the More Word Topper Subtitles Set, which I white heat embossed.
That's it for today's cards. As always, there are other fun new things in the release that I did not have time to play with. Be sure to stop over to Picket Fence Studios and take a look at the entire release.
Thanks for stopping by!
