Picket Fence Studios January Release

Hello!

It's the 14th of the month, and that means it is time for another new release from Picket Fence Studios!  This month, I have a giveaway as well, so be sure to read all the way to the end of the post.

Find the full release in the shop now.

As always, I have multiple cards to share with you today, so lets get right on into it!

Card # 1 |The Mighty Bee

For this card, I spend a bit of time die cutting.  I prepped my card stock first, by applying adhesive to two pieces of black card stock, and two pieces of yellow card stock.   I used the new Big Beautiful Bumble Bee Die, to die cut all four pieces of card stock.  I then layered the two black pieces together (adhesive size down, so the bottom piece could later adhere to the vellum die cut), then layered each of the yellow die cuts on top of that.  I cut the outline die from vellum, and adhered that under the layered die cuts.

To create my card front, I used the Honeycomb Stencil, layered over a piece of white card stock.  I then used a Life Changing Blender Brush, to apply Antique Linen Distress Oxide Ink through the stencil.  Once the inking was done, I allowed it to set for a bit, before I stamped the sentiment from the I Bee Fierce Stamp Set, in Black Hybrid Ink.  I matted the completed card front to a piece of black card stock, then added it to a white card base, before adding the bumble bee die cut.

Card #2 | No Matter What

For this card, I started out by putting the Flowers & Polka Dot Fun 6x6 Stencil, over white card stock.  Then I used Life Changing Blender Brushes, to apply Festive Berries, Scattered Straw, and Salty Ocean Distress Oxide Inks to the panel.  I made sure to blend the inks with one another really well to get the blended colors, and used the leftover ink from the Festive Berries brush, over the top of the blue, to create the purple.

I cleaned the stencil well, before applying it over a piece of gray card stock.  I then blended Unicorn Ink over the top of the stencil, with a Life Changing Blender Brush.

I set my inked panels aside to work on the rest of the card.  I die cut some white card stock, with the A2 Lattice Oval and Trimmings Die Set.  I cut the larger straight piece twice, to add the lacey border.  Then, I stamped the sentiment from the Advice Momma Should Give stamp set, onto black card stock, and heat embossed it in white.  I die cut the sentiment with a small circle die.  Finally, I adhered all of the pieces together, and attached the card front to a white card base.  A few Iridescent Moonshine Sequins completed the card.

Card #3 | Somebunny Loves You

For the third card, I stamped the Baby Girl of All Seasons image in light ink for some no-line coloring.  I inked her, avoiding the back end of her diaper, so that I could then stamp the bunny from the new Somebunny Loves You stamp set.   I colored in the images with Polychromos pencils.

Once colored, I stamped the sentiment and heat embossed it in gold.  Then I matted the card front with pink card stock, and added it to a white card base.

Card #4 | Smartass Friends

I began this card by stamping the images from the BFF Girls Find Your Tribe Stamp Set, in  Black Hybrid Ink.  I colored them in with Polychromos Pencils, then die cut the image using the coordinting dies.  I stamped, and white heat embossed, the sentiment from the stamp set, onto vellum.

For the background, I layered the Flowers & Polka Dot Fun 6x6 Stencil, over pale pink card stock.  Then I used Life Changing Blender Brushes, to apply Tattered Rose Distress Oxide Ink to the panel.  I layered the pieces together, and adhered the card front to a white card base.

Card #5 | Hugs From Afar

This final card started out with a piece of watercolor paper.  I stamped the solid images from the Butterfly Beauties stamp set, along one side of the watercolor paper, using Distress Oxide Inks.  I used Picked Raspberry, Candied Apple, Scattered Straw, Spiced Marmalade, Mowed Lawn, Peacock Feathers, Salty Ocean, Villainous Potion, and Wilted Violet.  Once the colors were stamped, I misted the paper with water, until the colors began to move around.  I used the edge of a paper towel to soak up excess water, and keep the colors from running into a muddy mess.  I then set the panel aside for a few hours, to be sure it was fully dry,  I went back to the panel to stamp the detailed images of the butterflies, over the top of the color splotches, using  Black Hybrid Ink.

To create the sentiment, I die cut the Slim Line Hugs from Afar Word Topper Die from Black card stock, and gold card stock.  I stamped and gold heat embossed the secondary sentiment, from the Word Die Topper Subtitles Stamp Set.  Then I layered my die cuts together, slightly offset, and trimmed the edges to fit the card front.  I added the card front to a white card base.
